Our Research Foci

Presynaptic Development and Memory Formation
What are the mechanisms underlying presynaptic development? To circumvent challenges studying identified neurons in mammals, our laboratory uses a Lymnaea Stagnalis model. We aim to uncover how voltage-dependent calcium channels and synaptic proteins are targeted during synapse formation and plasticity.

Targeting Calcium Release for Treatment of Hypoxic-ischemia
How can we develop more better treatments for hypoxic-ischemia? Our lab uses mouse models to investigate how targeting calcium channel function can support neuroprotection and recovery, aiming to develop effective pharmacological therapies.
