My research focuses on conserved mechanisms behind the neural circuitry governing phototaxis neurobehavior, phototransduction and retinal photoreceptor physiology in the pond snail Lymnaea stagnalis, with a special interest in the calcium dependent cellular and molecular mechanisms governing photoreceptor injury and response to injury (i.e., recovery and regeneration) in vivo.
